It would be taking back a lot of things. But it’s not something that would kill me unless I wasn’t cautious, so it’s not been worth the outright risk to my life. As much as I’d bloody like to get rid of it.

It revived Camille, so it should pan out okay.

I think at this point it's mostly just... getting our numbers down low enough that the ritual will fail. That seems to be the point and purpose of it now. Or, I'm assuming.

Yeah... I don't like trial, but it gives us an avenue to know how people died and lets us teach our goal. Kind of.

It's only going to get either more miserable or more intense.

Does anyone enjoy those things? They’re more chaotic than half the things I’ve experienced I was a vampire’s plaything for two centuries.

I imagine! The city in most areas are popping! But countryside can be cute.

From what Geto told me, my idea of a large city would be laughable compared to yours.

Yeah, probably, but if you think about it what we consider a large city might be laughable to other people here!

It sounded like one of the biggest… numbers I’ve heard of in one place? A million plus?

A lot more than that, but we're also in an era of prosperity. Our birth rate is less than a person, though.

How are there that many of you with that low a birth rate?

There was a boom! And now we're slowing down! ... A lot!

And that’s… bad.

I think that's the government's problem to figure out. It's mostly that people don't have the time and money to raise a family rather than like... A natural disaster or a plague.

[ So it's okay. ]

I think a stagnant population might be good for the world for now.
