And because they're older and have set the precedence for the world, it's harder to bring the change around even if it's actually maybe making the future worse. Something like that?

But does it actually work? [or does it only work for them...questions.] I can't blame you for not looking forward to that then. Or wanting to be the one to change it.

During their heyday, but things change.

It's not like I'm dreading it. There's just a lot of ways to mess up.

Sure. Even if it gets messed up, there are ways to fix it. But only if it doesn't get messed up too far. [i.e. the end of the world.]

Yeah, that's it. It isn't that deep.

[ Or at least to him... It seems simple. It is probably more complex, but when you see it as a problem that needs a solution, even if unwieldy, then it's simple. ]

I'd ask the word on you, but loss is general and kind of touchy.

That's not a bad way to look at it. [it at least means he's not going to be stressing too much about it. that counts for something. her eyes flicker down to her wrist, hand covering the word briefly as she ponders.]

I think a lot of people have seen it and have been too polite to ask for that reason. [it is touchy, and it is general.] To be honest, I'm not fully sure which it applies to myself because it can be a few things. Maybe it's all of them.

At least vague ones are easy to skirt... Some of it can be specific, or very telling!

[ Hands over his head. ]

You can tell me about how you lost your doll in your childhood or something.

[she is trying to think of the best way to spin this so it isn't sad, yeah, but she's not always great at lying.]

I could, yeah, but I don't think I ever really had one of those. [a doll? a childhood? debatable, nothing about growing up was normal.] Not that I don't mind specifics, but not everyone wants to hear it. Maybe it's easiest to think of this one as losing sight of a target we need to follow.

I don't usually have time or care to listen to people's problems, but... I'm trying to be a better person and work on that! [ He is growing out of being a brat. ] You can tell me whatever you want to tell me!

[HELP. honestly she seems to think this is kind of funny that he's honest about it. also it is not lost on her what the difference is between geto and gojo. so she doesn't mind that he says this, because it is not entirely comforting but she'd rather have this than someone giving her lip service.]

Effort counts for something. [hah. but...] I never really did tell you much about home, did I? The things we're doing.

[ he is just a creature teenager and smiles like he didn't pose this in a weird way at all. he isn't unaware, he just doesn't think his delivery is so important. ]

[unsurprising given it's a little complicated to explain sometimes.]

We're trying to protect our future, too. But there's someone who wants to ruin any chance we have by destroying the whole planet.

[situationship]

[ Oh, apocalypse proportion. ]

... What do they get out of that?

[residentflorist]

According to him, destroying the planet will help him to claim his birthright. "A dominion that shall encompass worlds unbound by fate and histories unwritten." [she shakes her head.] By doing so, he'll damage the planet so badly he'll be able to control it...basically becoming a god and creating an eternity. But eternity can't exist. Everything that comes from the planet must return to the planet.

[HELP. that gets a slight smile at least, even if it's a bit resigned.]

That's a word for him, yeah. But he's still a threat.

The whole world, huh... That does count for loss, a big one, and he's waiting for you guys when you come home.

The wish part of all of this isn't tempting?

[residentflorist]

Yup. [he. sure is. he is waiting for cloud specifically, but he's in for a surprise. bitch.]

...of course the wish is tempting, but not tempting enough to risk leaving my friends behind if I'm attached to someone who's killed. We were planning on a way to stop him without the wish. Just because one's present now doesn't mean we need it. [but it is there.]

I wouldn't trust suspicious cult organizations giving me anything, either!

[ Like that is the obvious thing. ]

It's still worth asking if they can even guarantee these things are real or if it's just to make sure we cooperate with what they want. I think enough of us already know not to trust these things at face value.

[situationship]

So checking their power levels... Summoning people from across the universe, time periods and timelines included, is pretty powerful. That's my assessment so far, but it wouldn't hurt to pry some more.

No, which is very annoying. He's from an earlier point.
